IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT...everything is happening

Saturday, 24.October, Luxor
Our alarmclock went off at 03h00.
Already during the night we checked on our mail and we received all the permissions we need to proceed with our trip.
A taxi collected us at 04h30 and we arrived at the aircraft just before 06h00 after all the procedures.
Considering the Loss and the subsequent finding of the flight plan by Air Traffic Control the delay of 35 Minutes is not too bad.
But what a rush, this is not for sissys.

06h39, Takeoff at Luxor, Egypt for a flight to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 25 DegreeC
The flight to Jeddah will take approx 4 hours, we will do a technical stop meaning refuelling, toilet, etc
After take off we only see sand below us, I feel quite bored with it today and….one hour is lost on top of it.

Outside Temp is now minus2 at FL170, again the aircraft shows no good performance,
We are fine and better, and the Doctor who saw Jurgen yesterday had declared him good and fit to go.

08H40, The Red Sea comes into view on the LHS. On the Right Hand Side  Sand/ Mountains? And we set a waypoint 003, we will do research of The Sands or Rocks and if so what kind.
We also see a large airfield and we cross the coastline and from here nothing but water.
A Container Ship now and than.

The red sea is not red but she has wonderful reefs

09h50, we start our descent for Jeddah and we receive our arrival procedures

12h18, after a quick turn-around we left Jeddah at12h05, Temperature 38 DegreeC,
Below us nothing but concrete jungles, highrise building, and it is misty with high humidity,
All went well with professional  and prompt service,

We are on our way to Djibouti, Djibouti in Djibouti, a small country on the east side of Africa.
Again we see nothing but water, we are still above The Red Sea
13h43, nothing has changed, only water to be seen and we start asking: what sealife is in there? And we all get silly and talk about catching fish with a fishing line…that’s what The Red See does to you.
Furthermore we see 2 Cargo ships and one island

15h36, we can see Eritrea coastline and we just fly parallel to that line

In theory we will still have to fly to Addis Ababa today, it is getting very late. We will make a decision a bit later. If we stay in Djibouti  it would also mean we will loose our Permit for gorilla trekking in Rwanda.

DIE PHOTOS KOMMEN MIT EINER BESSEREN INTERNET VERBINDUNG, WIR SIND JETZT GRADE IN DEN WAELDERN VON UGANDA UND RWANDA

It is too late for another flight, we will stay here for the night.
We touch ground at 17h00, unbearable temperatures of 38,9 Degrees, formalities are easygoing and swift, we were never asked  for a visa, we were never asked to pay for a visa, I have not checked my passport for a stamp yet,
Off to the Hotel, one of two in Town, it is a DUMP.
The Outside bar, the temperature is unbearable, is next to the water and there is a sewer smell and they want R90 for one beer and R300 for a Bottle of  Tassenberg. Decision in 2 seconds, we stay with water and coca cola.

And we are in bed by 20h58. The Fan directed on us.
